The next ‘Big Oil’ - Corn Farmers

Corn Farmers - The next ‘Big Oil’.As the demand for alternative fuels rises, so does the demand for corn.  This is because ethanol is produced from corn.  While the corn farmers of the US rake in record profits, they introduce more fertilizer into the Mississippi river, and eventually into the Gulf of Mexico.  This creates what is called a ‘Dead Zone’, in which marine life cannot live.  The corn farmers understand this problem, yet they refuse to look for a resolution, just like Big Oil.

In due time, we will look at corn farmers the same way we look at big oil companies.  They will produce an energy source we need to sustain our consumption.  Eventually, they’ll be running our country and destroying our environment, just like Big Oil.

Jason Reed of Reuters reported today on this growing trend.

Big Oil - Politically Sponsored Corporate Terrorism

Assume the positionI just can’t figure it out. Big oil is making record profits, gas prices are at record highs, and the US economy is suffering. What does it take for our political leaders to step in and address the problem? Are they prepared to let US corporations ruin the US economy?

Our political leaders will hunt down US citizens who they believe to be involved in funding terrorism, yet they sit idle when big corporations threaten our entire country.  Corporate terrorism is running rampant, while our political leaders claim to be “battling terrorism”.

Any half-witted moron can understand that there is no logical reason to charge these outrageous energy prices.  These corporations are stealing from every hardworking American in the country.  If you have some time and you’d like to voice your opinion about the subject, contact your congressmen.
